Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 2, 2026

DataCat is operated by Individual Entrepreneur Roman Sundurov, registration number 305561086, registered at Nutsubidze Slope, Building 21, Apartment 103, Tbilisi, Georgia. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to [email protected].

1. Data stored on your Mac

DataCat creates and manages Jobs, provider configurations, Indicator Sets, diagnostics, and user-owned SQLite dataset files on your Mac. Provider credentials entered in DataCat are stored in the app’s local application data and are sent only to the provider you selected when needed to perform a requested operation. DataCat does not receive a server-side copy of your dataset contents or provider credentials.

You control the local files created by DataCat. Removing the app does not necessarily remove datasets saved outside the app’s container or other local data retained by macOS.

2. Data processed by online services

DataCat uses a stable random anonymous identifier that is separate from any contact email. Depending on the build and enabled configuration, DataCat may use:

If you send feedback, DataCat processes the message and any email address you choose to provide. Diagnostics are included only when you enable the diagnostics option.

These providers process information under their own privacy policies: Amplitude (https://amplitude.com/privacy), Sentry (https://sentry.io/privacy/), RevenueCat (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/), and Apple (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

Information is processed to provide DataCat and requested provider operations, maintain subscriptions, understand aggregate product usage, diagnose failures, secure and improve the app, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. Depending on the context, processing is based on performing the user-requested service, legitimate interests in operating and improving DataCat, consent for optional user-submitted information, or applicable legal obligations.

4. Sharing and international processing

DataCat does not sell personal data and does not use it for cross-app advertising. Information is shared only with service providers needed for the purposes above, with a provider you direct DataCat to contact, or when required by law. Online service providers may process information outside Georgia, including in the United States, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.

5. Retention

Local application data remains until you delete it, reset it, or remove it through the available macOS and DataCat controls. Online service data is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and according to the configured retention and legal requirements of the relevant provider. Support records may be retained while a request is active and for a reasonable period afterward.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request information about processing, access, correction, deletion, restriction or blocking, withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent, and review of an objection. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia or another competent authority.

Because default telemetry uses an anonymous identifier rather than an account or email, DataCat may need information from your installation to locate a relevant vendor record.

7. Security and children

DataCat uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. DataCat is not directed to children, and the operator does not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.

Please report suspected security vulnerabilities privately to [email protected]. Do not include provider credentials, dataset contents, or other sensitive user data unless specifically requested through a secure channel.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated when DataCat, its providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
